What is Betty's Project?

Betty's Project, Inc. was started because of a large need in the community for Guardian and Conservator Services that can help with Iowa's aging population and the vast needs that go along with them in terms of finding care, meeting needs, and handling the maze of government agencies, sale of assets, managing the family dynamics, and more.

Who is Betty?

Betty was the beloved grandmother of our founder, Erin Droll. Sadly, Betty became the victim of financial exploitation by a family member who isolated her from the rest of her loved ones. She was moved to another state, and contact with other family members was cut off. Over time, Betty was led to believe that no one else cared about her except the person exploiting her.

This family member also pressured Betty into making financial decisions that served only their own interests. Erin and the rest of the family felt helpless, unsure how to reconnect with Betty or protect her. By the time they were able to reach her again, it was too late — Betty had passed away.

Determined to make a difference for others facing similar situations, Erin earned a degree in Human Services and launched a business dedicated to helping families navigate guardianship and conservatorship challenges. In 2019, she founded Betty’s Project, Inc., a nonprofit organization committed to supporting underserved communities and protecting vulnerable individuals.
